Shape transformative change in justice at the Department of Justice and Public Safety. This senior role drives policy innovation and manages federal/provincial relations for public safety. Reporting to senior leadership, this Director position combines strategic leadership with a focus on evidence-based research and policy development.
With oversight of the Department's legislative responsibilities, you'll navigate intergovernmental relations and enhance public sector equity, diversity, and inclusion. Strong leadership will foster collaboration to improve community engagement and service delivery. Key Responsibilities:
- Advise the Minister on intergovernmental policy issues
- Develop responses to correspondence from governmental stakeholders
- Lead preparation of briefing materials for the leadership
- Oversee legislative planning for over 120 statutes
- Manage team research, analysis, and policy implementation Requirements:
- Law Degree or Master’s in a related field
- Extensive experience in policy development and program management
- Solid analytical and communication skills
- Proven management and supervisory experience
- Ability to travel as needed Drive impactful justice policies and advocate for diverse community needs.
