We areWSP .The Prospect – Build the Future with UsYour impact starts here- As anIntermediate Air Quality Instrumentation Technician, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality ambient air monitoring programs that support environmental protection, regulatory compliance, and sustainable development across Alberta and the broader Prairies & North region.You'll work as part of WSP’sEnvironmental Management team, taking ownership of complex field monitoring activities, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring instrumentation systems operate reliably and accurately. This role is well suited for a technically strong professional with a solidinstrumentation backgroundwho thrives in field-based environments and takes pride in producing defensible environmental data.Your ImpactLeadcalibration, operation, and maintenanceof continuous ambient air monitoring instrumentation to ensure data quality and regulatory complianceIndependently deploy, operate, and recoverintermittent and passive air sampling equipmentacross multiple field sitesSet up, configure, and maintaincontinuous air monitoring stations,



including analyzers, power systems, telemetry, and data loggersDiagnose and resolveinstrumentation, electrical, and mechanical issues, minimizing downtime and protecting data integrityPrepare and review detailedfield documentation, calibration records, and maintenance logs, supporting downstream data analysis and reportingThe Skills That Set You ApartDiploma or degree inInstrumentation Engineering Technology, Instrumentation & Controls, or a closely related technical disciplineDemonstrated experience inair quality or environmental monitoring, with responsibility for instrumentation calibration and troubleshootingStrong working knowledge ofambient air monitoring analyzers, sensors, and data acquisition systemsHigh level ofmechanical and technical aptitude, with confidence using diagnostic tools and electronic test equipmentProven ability to workindependently in the field, while supporting and guiding junior technicians as neededCompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT:$29.00 - $38.90 per hourMB & ON:$26.40 - $36.90 per hourNB, NL, NS, PE & QC:$26.20 - $35.30 per hourDisclosureThe final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
