Vancouver Island Health Authority seeks an Indigenous Liaison Nurse dedicated to improving healthcare for Indigenous clients. This casual position requires a blend of healthcare knowledge and cultural sensitivity. As the Indigenous Liaison Nurse, guided by the Manager of Indigenous Health, you will be responsible for planning and delivering nursing care across wide-ranging settings.
This includes assessments, case management, and health education tailored to Indigenous community needs. You're expected to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and may need to travel between sites using a personal vehicle. Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement individualized nursing care
Assess client health needs and develop care plans
Provide health education and support
Liaise with teams for effective care delivery
Comply with nursing regulations and ethical standards Requirements:
Registered with BC College of Nurses and Midwives
Valid Driver's License for travel
Familiarity with Indigenous health and services
At least two years’ experience in Indigenous health
Insight into culturally secure healthcare practices Contribute to the advancement of Indigenous health through effective nursing and cultural competence.
