The Elora Centre for the Arts (ECFTA) is seeking its next Executive Director (ED). Following a two-year expansion and modernization of the physical space, the ED will lead the next phase in the Centre’s evolution, building on ECFTA’s role as a vibrant and creative community arts hub and shaping a sustainable and inclusive future.

Reporting directly to the Board, the ED mandate is best summed up as planned and managed sustainable growth. Key priorities include:

- Developing a coherent and achievable strategic and operating plan aligned with ECFTA’s longer term vision.
- Defining clear roles and accountabilities for themself and serving as a trusted people leader for a team comprised of full-time, part-time, contract staff, students and volunteers.
- Fostering a stable, collaborative and values-driven organizational culture, including engaging staff and the Board in defining and embedding a shared set of organizational values.
- Strengthening ECFTA’s connections across Centre Wellington by listening to and engaging the community and fostering a sense of belonging for all in this unique community.
- Analyzing and demonstrating a solid understanding of the ECFTA’s overall economic model underpinned by an analysis of the current portfolio of activity, including the costs and revenues, and the opportunities to strengthen and diversify revenue streams.
- Pursuing a portfolio approach to the Centre’s rich set of activities that catalyze and foster the arts in all its forms and identifying areas of chance and growth for an achievable and sustainable portfolio over time.
- Strengthening processes, systems and standards where needed, while preserving a culture of creativity, which is the heartbeat of the Centre.
- Building strong, mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships across Centre Wellington and the broader region, including with artists, arts and community organizations, the Municipality, businesses, funders and other partners.





Skills & Experience A genuine passion for the arts and a strong belief in the role of community arts organizations is essential. Experience working in the arts, culture or creative sector is preferred.

The ED must have demonstrated people and team leadership experience including a proven ability to delegate and lead through values. A clear, transparent and approachable communicator, the ED is a relationship builder who listens, builds trust and enjoys connecting with staff, artists, volunteers, partners and community members. They celebrate team successes and individual achievements and readily share recognition.

Pragmatic, efficient and organized, the ED will ensure the Centre delivers meaningful community impact, building financial and organizational sustainability. The ability to move comfortably between strategic and operating matters, the leader brings a wider perspective and is equally comfortable sweating the details.

Compensation The salary range is $85,000 to $105,000.*

ECFTA will provide a small stipend should the successful candidate reside outside Centre Wellington and require a move to the region.
