Economy Paving Ltd. is looking for an experienced Grading Foreman to join our growing civil construction team. The successful candidate will lead grading crews on road construction, commercial, and site development projects throughout Alberta.
This position requires robust leadership, experience operating in civil construction environments, and the ability to manage crews, schedules, and jobsite production safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate grading crews and daily site operations
Read and interpret construction drawings, grade stakes, and site plans
Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
Coordinate equipment, materials, and manpower requirements
Work closely with project managers, surveyors, and subcontractors
Monitor production, quality control, and project progress
Ensure proper site safety procedures are followed at all times
Train and mentor crew members and operators
Complete daily reports and communicate job progress to management
Assist with troubleshooting grading and site issues as they arise
Qualifications
Experience as a Grading Foreman in civil construction
Strong knowledge of grading, excavation, road building, and site development
Ability to read blueprints and understand elevations and site grades
Experience working around GPS and grade control systems is an asset
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage crews in a rapid-paced environment
Valid driver’s license required
Class 1 or Class 3 license is considered an asset

Operating heavy equipment
Civil earthworks and underground servicing
GPS machine control systems
