Lead the factory food safety team Oversee Pest Control Management, Allergen Management, Food Defence, Food Fraud, Environmental & Pathogen Monitoring, and Pre-Requisite Programs Evaluate cleaning and sanitation effectiveness to prevent microbiological and allergenic contamination
Ensure functioning Master Sanitation Schedules are in place Liaise on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) Coordinate internal GMP inspections and ensure closure of findings Represent quality and food safety in capital project meetings
Conduct extended run validation studies while ensuring food safety requirements are met Coach employees on their role and impact on food safety Review internal GMP inspection findings and follow up with involved functions to ensure timely completion
Cascade emerging threats and trends in food safety and strategies to mitigate risks Support quality failure analysis and Manufacturing Excellence initiatives to eliminate food-safety-related defects Support problem solving and solution development during food safety incident investigations
Ensure audit readiness for food safety audits Requirements
University degree or equivalent, preferably in Food Science, Food Safety, Food Technology, Microbiology, Medical Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or a related field Experience in the food manufacturing industry with strong food safety knowledge and risk assessment experience Experience implementing and maintaining food safety programs, including GMP, sanitation, allergen control, environmental monitoring, and corrective actions
Experience supporting regulatory audits, third-party audits, audit teams, continuous improvement initiatives, or change projects Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a factory environment with Quality, Production Support,
and other cross-functional teams Leadership capability to supervise and develop team members while driving food safety compliance
Flexible, reliable, and able to support operational needs, including occasional off-shift, weekend, or shutdown activities Preferred: Degree in Microbiology or a closely related discipline Preferred: Experience as a Hygienist in a food manufacturing facility
Preferred: Experience with hygienic design principles and factory sanitation systems Preferred: Experience working in a unionized manufacturing setting Preferred: Experience with FSSC 22000, ISO, SQF, BRC, or other GFSI-recognized food safety standards
Preferred: Experience leading food safety projects, improvements, audit preparation, or change management activities Preferred: SAP experience and exposure to supplier, warehouse, or external audit activities Core Competencies
