Duncan Christian School, located on beautiful Vancouver Island, invites applications for the position of Creative Marketing & Media Specialist, commencing the 2026/27 school year.

Posting Description

We are seeking a creative storyteller who can elevate the school’s visual presence in the community and drive engagement across all digital touchpoints and community information sources. The Creative Marketing & Media Specialist champions the school’s brand, oversees all social media platforms, and develops targeted marketing ideas to promote the school and its events. A primary mission of this role is to ensure all public-facing content and community outreach align with the school’s core mission and vision and reach a variety of targeted audiences.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with school departments to source and share stories that reflect the DCS vision and student experience.
- Ensure the school’s visual identity (logos, colour palettes, tone of voice) remains consistent across all digital and physical touchpoints.
- Capture day-to-day school life, achievements, and milestones through photography, short-form video (Reels/Shorts), and engaging copy
- Attend and help coordinate community-facing events to enhance school visibility (e.g., open house, gala, market)




- Assess the effectiveness of present practices and propose ideas for improvement
- Foster positive online community engagement through the monitoring of channels and respond to inquiries/comments in a timely, professional manner

Media

- Collaborate with the appropriate team members in the use of the DCS app
- Create and schedule engaging content for social media channels, website, and newsletters
- Create and direct a social media campaign to align with the school theme, including reaching out to staff to assist with content
- Monitor and analyze metrics (e.g., website traffic, ad performance) to assess campaign effectiveness and guide future planning
- Ensure up-to-date content for events and announcements
- Produce content additions to the DCS website

Creative Marketing

- Brainstorm and create collateral (physical information, digital signage, community boards) that enhances the school’s image within the school and broader community
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on the production of promotional materials (e.g. brochures, viewbooks, signage, ads)

Successful candidates will

- Have evidenced experience in the field of media, marketing, graphic design
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Have a strong eye for visual storytelling




- Proficiency with social media platforms and publishing tools
- Evidence of initiative
- A growing/active Christian faith and willingness to support and promote the mission and values of Duncan Christian School

Job Format

This role offers remote flexibility but relies on an adaptable schedule. The ideal candidate must be available on campus during designated school hours and events for live content creation. To ensure smooth execution, we will discuss and schedule all event coverage in advance.
