Lead the transformation of justice systems for First Nations as the Director at the Assembly of First Nations in Ottawa. This permanent full time role emphasizes strategic justice advocacy and collaboration. The AFN seeks a seasoned Director to guide its Justice sector.

Reporting to the Senior Director, you will lead initiatives that promote safety and community well-being through First Nations legal systems. This position involves extensive policy development and representation for First Nations families. Key Responsibilities:
Advocate for First Nations laws and justice traditions
Formulate strategies addressing systemic justice issues
Lead policy recommendations for safety enhancements
Represent AFN in government and community discussions
Foster a cooperative team environment and mentorship Requirements:
Background in Law, Indigenous Studies, or related field
7+ years in First Nations policy and leadership roles
Proven experience addressing justice challenges in communities
Robust communication and interpersonal skills
Bilingualism, including Indigenous languages, is preferred Join AFN to make a notable impact on First Nations justice and safety initiatives.
