Position Summary

As an integral member of UHN Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacy Site Operations Leader is responsible for supervising inpatient pharmacy operations.

Duties

- Supporting the Dual Hospital Pharmacy Operations Manager with all aspects of pharmacy operations of the assigned site
- implementing pharmacy projects
- providing direct and/or functional supervision of staff including human resources management
- maintaining related policies and procedures; providing expertise in pharmacy automation, sterile and non-sterile compounding
- leading initiatives that will optimize the safety, quality, delivery and efficiency of the hospital's drug distribution systems
- represent pharmacy at various interprofessional committees and contribute to quality improvement activities within the department, while exemplifying UHN's values of caring, excellence, teamwork, innovation, integrity, leadership, and respect
- Completion of an advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) or Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
- Certificate of competency from the Pharmacy Examination Board of Canada required
- Active registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists as a Pharmacist, Part A required
- At minimum over 2-3 years practical and related supervisory, management, or leadership experience required
- Pharmacy practice in a hospital setting with up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy operations required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to manage workload with frequent changes
- Ability to plan and coordinate various assignments and projects
- Professional Society Membership relevant to Hospital Pharmacy (e.g. CSHP) an asset
- Pharmacy Residency an asset
