The company has an opening at its Design & Development Center located in Bromont, Quebec for a Product Development Engineer.FUNCTION SUMMARYWe are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Product Development Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in the medical device industry. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of innovative drug delivery devices, primarily focused on reconstitution and injection systems, supporting projects from concept generation through design, prototyping, testing, and transfer to production. This role involves hands‑on engineering work including CAD design, performance testing, data analysis, and preparation of technical documentation, while collaborating closely with internal teams, clients, and external partners.Work directly with leading pharmaceutical clients on custom drug delivery device development programsContribute to a wide range of innovative projects, from early-stage concepts to commercialized productsDevelop devices intended for injectable drug delivery, including reconstitution systems and administration mechanismsOperate in a highly hands‑on prototyping and testing setting, leveraging in‑house capabilities including 3D printing (multiple onsite printers), CNC machining, and manual fabrication techniquesBe actively involved in product testing, data generation, and technical documentation supporting development, design decisions, and regulatory requirementsThis position, based in Bromont, Quebec, offers an exciting opportunity to work within Duoject Medical Systems, part of Novocol Pharma and the Septodont group. The position will report to the Product Development Engineering Manager.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProduct DevelopmentDesign and develop new products or improve existing medical devices from ideation to production transferPerform iterative CAD design with a focus on functionality, robustness, and manufacturabilityBuild and refine prototypes using in‑house capabilities (e.G., 3D printing, CNC machining, manual fabrication)Testing & ValidationPlan and execute product performance testing (e.G., force, torque, dose accuracy,



functional testing)Develop test methods and analyze results to support design decisionsSupport verification of product requirements and robustness of performanceContribute to the generation of reliable test data to support development and regulatory activitiesTechnical AnalysisAnalyze test data and results using appropriate engineering and statistical approachesDevelop solutions based on a strong understanding of product behaviour and performanceDocumentation & CompliancePrepare and maintain technical documentation including test protocols, reports, analyses, drawings, and specificationsEnsure traceability between product requirements, test methods, and resultsSupport quality and regulatory documentation activities in collaboration with QA/RA teamsCollaborationWork closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, QA/RA, and Project ManagementParticipate in meetings with clients and suppliers, supporting technical discussions as neededContinuous ImprovementContribute to improving prototyping methods, testing approaches, and internal processesSupport maintenance and optimization of prototyping and testing equipmentGeneralFollow all safety guidelines, company policies, and standard business practicesPerform other related duties and special projects as assignedQUALIFICATIONSEducationBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentExperienceMinimum of 3 years of relevant experience in product development or mechanical designExperience in medical devices or regulated industries is an assetTechnical SkillsProficiency in CAD software (e.G., SolidWorks) and simulation toolsExperience with prototyping, testing methods, and manufacturing processesKnowledge of engineering analysis techniques and data interpretation (experience with FEA is an asset)Understanding of R&D documentation practices, including test protocols, reports, and technical recordsCommunicationStrong verbal and written communication skills in both French and EnglishFluency in French is required, as the working language within the Bromont site is primarily FrenchAbility to communicate effectively in English with clients, suppliers, and corporate partnersAnalytical ThinkingStrong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze and interpret technical dataDetail-orientedDetail-oriented with structured and methodical approachTeam PlayerCollaborative mindset with ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teamsSupports team members and contributes to a positive work environmentAdaptabilityFlexible and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic development environmentResourcefulWorkunder constraints and deliver creative solutions under constraintsWork Environment & AvailabilityThis position requires regular onsite presence due to the hands‑on nature of prototyping, testing,
