Become the Coordinator at the Maamwizing Indigenous Research Institute and drive impactful research initiatives at Laurentian University. This unique role focuses on administrative management and advancing Indigenous research capacity. As a vital member of the MIRI team, you will support the planning and execution of programs aimed at bolstering Indigenous excellence in research.
You will work collaboratively with faculty, students, and community partners, emphasizing outreach and knowledge sharing. Your administrative skills will be central to managing budgets and communication strategies. Key Responsibilities:
Lead financial administration and budget evaluations
Track and report on MIRI activities and outcomes
Organize workshops and coordinate MIRI events
Foster team-oriented relationships with Indigenous communities
Manage MIRI communications and digital presence Requirements:
Relevant experience, ideally three years, with Indigenous communities
Understanding of Indigenous research standards
Solid communication skills in both English and French are an asset
Experience working in academic environments with Indigenous faculty
Lived experience and Indigenous identity are preferred Enhance Indigenous research and community collaboration in your role as the MIRI Coordinator.
