River Road Café is an independent Brazilian Coffee House & Pastelaria in Richmond.
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys baking and pastry to join our kitchen team. Your main focus will be helping with the production of our cakes, desserts and other bakery items, while also supporting the kitchen with customer orders during café service.
You don't need to know our recipes — we'll teach you our products and our way of doing things. What matters most is that you enjoy working with food, pay attention to detail, and take pride in what you make.
What you'll do
Prepare cakes, desserts and other bakery items
Follow recipes and production procedures consistently
Prepare fillings, toppings and components
Assemble, finish, portion and package products
Help keep products stocked and organized
Support the preparation of customer orders during service
Keep your workstation clean and organized
Help the team wherever needed during busy periods
We're looking for someone who
Has some hands-on baking or pastry experience
Is organized and pays attention to detail
Works cleanly and follows instructions well
Is reliable and takes responsibility for their work
Enjoys learning and working as part of a small team
Skilled experience is welcome, but not required. Your experience can come from a bakery, culinary school, or reliable baking at home. We're happy to teach skills. What matters most to us is honesty, kindness, respect and a willingness to learn.
Schedule
Tuesday–Friday: 10:00 am–3:00 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am–3:00 pm
There may be an opportunity for additional hours as you become more experienced and independent in the role.
