About the Role Lux is looking for exceptional IB and AP teachers/tutors to provide high-quality academic instruction to ambitious secondary-school students.
Teachers will work closely with Lux's academic and consulting teams to ensure academic support is aligned with each student's broader educational goals.

Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging one-on-one and small-group lessons.
Understand each student's academic level, goals, strengths, and gaps.
Develop individualized lesson plans aligned with IB/AP curriculum requirements.
Help students strengthen subject knowledge, problem-solving, exam strategy, and academic confidence.
Prepare students for coursework, internal assessments, exams, and relevant academic milestones.
Assign appropriate homework and practice.
Monitor progress against transparent academic goals.
Complete a brief teacher report following each lesson.
Flag academic concerns or students at risk to the Director of Academics.
Collaborate with the Director of Academics when intervention or curriculum changes are needed.
Maintain accurate records in Lux's internal system.
Communicate professionally with the Lux team regarding student progress.
What We're Looking For
Strong expertise in the relevant IB/AP subject.
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree is an asset.
Prior teaching or tutoring experience strongly preferred.
Familiarity with current IB or AP curriculum and assessment formats.
Strong academic track record.
Ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
Patient, supportive, and highly student-focused.
Reliable and responsive with excellent professional communication.
Proven ability to help students achieve measurable academic improvement is preferred.
Strong Advantage
Current/former school teacher.
IB/AP examiner or curriculum experience.
Top university academic background.
Experience supporting competitive university applicants.
Ability to teach more than one subject or curriculum.
