IT Director – Business Applications & Technology

Location: Greater Toronto Area, Ontario

Salary: $150,000 – $180,000 base + bonus/benefits

About The Opportunity

We are building a talent pool of experienced IT Directors, Technology Leaders, and Business Applications Leaders for current and upcoming opportunities across the Greater Toronto Area.

This role is ideal for a technology leader who can bridge business needs and technology execution, with a significant focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central initiatives as well as broader IT and technology projects.

Approximately 60% of the role will focus on Business Central / Microsoft Dynamics 365, while the remaining time will be dedicated to IT initiatives, technology projects, process improvements, and helping the organization leverage technology to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and oversee Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central initiatives and implementations.

- Partner with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technology solutions.

- Manage technology projects from planning and requirements through implementation and ongoing support.

- Evaluate existing systems, processes, and technology infrastructure and identify opportunities for improvement.

- Lead business systems integration and technology transformation initiatives.

- Work closely with vendors, implementation partners, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

- Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, priorities, and implementation strategies.





- Ensure technology projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.

- Provide leadership and direction across IT operations, applications, infrastructure, and technology initiatives.

- Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the employee/customer experience.

- Support data, reporting, analytics, cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, and other technology initiatives as required.

- Establish and maintain IT policies, standards, processes, and best practices.

- Manage technology vendors and external service providers.

- Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations to senior leadership.

- Act as a strategic technology partner to business leadership and help drive the organization's digital transformation.

Qualifications

- 15+ years of progressive IT, technology, business systems, or applications experience.

- Previous experience in an IT Manager, IT Director, Technology Director, Applications Director, or similar leadership role.

- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics 365.

- Experience leading ERP implementations, upgrades, integrations, or major business systems projects.





- Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions.

- Demonstrated project management and stakeholder management experience.

- Experience working with third-party vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.

- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, applications, and enterprise systems.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills.

- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technology investments to business objectives.

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline preferred.

Assets

- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certification or implementation experience.

- Experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.

- ERP integration experience.

- Power BI / Power Platform experience.

- Experience with cybersecurity and IT governance.

- Experience managing IT budgets and vendors.

- Experience leading technology transformation or digital transformation initiatives.
