We are searching for a dedicated and skilled Basketball Coach to become a crucial part of our team. As leaders and mentors, we provide at-risk youth with a safe, inclusive, fun recreational basketball program. Your passion for the community and ability to work with athletes of all skill levels will be instrumental in our team's success. Night Hoops is not an elite or high-performance basketball program but a welcoming workplace that allows kids and youth to make friends and learn life skills beyond basketball.
Your responsibilities as a Coach:
Plan and conduct engaging practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and strategy
Facilitate an environment where life lessons/skills are explored to help players expand their knowledge of social-emotional learning.
Create game plans and strategies to maximize team performance during competitions.
Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork
Collaborate with other coaches and staff members to coordinate team activities, schedules,
and events
Communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff members regarding team updates, expectations, and goals
Skills:
Robust knowledge of basketball rules, techniques, strategies, and gameplay
Ability to effectively teach and educate players of beginner and intermediate skill levels
Excellent communication skills to effectively convey instructions and provide feedback
Robust leadership skills to motivate and inspire players to perform at their best
Organizational skills to plan practices, games, and team activities
Job Type: Seasonal
Contract length: ASAP-October 5th - and December 16th future programs
Pay: $500 honorarium per Contract paid at the end of Contract
Expected hours: No less than 2 per week
