Qualifications – Hospice Healthcare Facility
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
Hospice experience preferred
Palliative Care Certificate preferred
GPA (Gentle Persuasive Approaches) Certificate preferred
Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centred care in a hospice setting

Responsibilities:
Registered Practical Nurses are required to adhere to the scope of practice as defined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Providing compassionate nursing care to patients receiving palliative and end-of-life care
Assessing patient needs and monitoring changes in condition
Administering medications and treatments in accordance with care plans
Supporting patients and families through end-of-life care
Collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
Maintaining accurate and timely patient documentation
Note: Duties may vary slightly based on facility and shift,
with specific guidance provided during site orientation.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience (required)
Previous hospice or palliative care experience is preferred
Familiarity with palliative and end-of-life care practices
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong clinical judgment and adaptability
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
Strong attention to detail for accurate documentation and medication administration
Compassion and empathy when supporting patients and families
Ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive situations
