Sangster Engineering Ltd. designs and manufactures training equipment that is used by customers around the world. We are a small, hands-on manufacturing team, and we are looking for a reliable Shop Runner to help keep our workshop running smoothly.
This is a part time position of roughly 10 to 15 hours per week, with core hours from about 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm on weekdays. Occasional weekend shifts are required when production schedules call for it. The schedule works well for students, and hours can be adjusted around exam periods.
What you'll do
Keep the workshop clean, protected, and organized, including sweeping, tidying work areas, and emptying bins.
Organize and restock inventory, label shelves and bins.
Pick up supplies and parts from local hardware stores as needed.
Assist with light manufacturing tasks, including routine 3D printer maintenance (clearing beds, changing filament, basic cleaning and checks).
Help with packing, unpacking, and moving materials around the shop.
Take on other shop tasks as assigned by the team.
What we're looking for
Reliable and punctual, with consistent weekday afternoon availability.
Comfortable with physical work, including lifting up to 20 kg and being on your feet for the shift.
Organized, with attention to detail and a willingness to follow safety instructions.
Able to work independently on assigned tasks and ask questions when unsure.
Legally eligible to work in Canada.
Required: a valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle for supply runs.
Nice to have: familiarity with hand tools, 3D printers, or workshop environments.
Candidates with an interest in pursuing a career in engineering will be given preference.
