Duties
Decorate cakes and baked goods with intricate designs, piping, fondant, and other decorative techniques to meet customer specifications and seasonal themes
Prepare cake bases, fillings, icings, and toppings with precision, ensuring consistency and quality in every creation
Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with food safety standards and sanitation protocols
Package finished products carefully for delivery or customer pickup, ensuring presentation remains impeccable
Assist in baking and food preparation tasks as needed to support the bakery operations
Monitor inventory levels of decorating supplies and ingredients, notifying management when stock needs replenishing
Experience
Proven experience in cake decorating or bakery arts within a restaurant or food industry setting
Solid skills in food handling, baking, and food safety practices to ensure hygienic operations
Knowledge of various decorating techniques such as piping, fondant work, airbrushing, and sculpting
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and understand customer preferences
Prior kitchen experience demonstrating familiarity with food preparation and cooking processes
Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Experience with packaging baked goods for retail or special events is a plus
