About the Position
Summary:
The purpose of the Industrial Security Officer is to provide safety, security, and protection of personnel, property, and assets at the site. The objective is to maintain a secure setting that minimizes the risk of theft, vandalism, unauthorized access, and other potential security breaches.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety and security of the premises
Conduct regular foot and mobile patrols to check for any suspicious activities or unauthorized individuals
Respond promptly to alarms or incidents and take appropriate action
Maintain accurate records and reports of all security-related activities and incidents
Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors and addressing their inquiries or concerns
Enforce access control procedures and verify the identity of individuals entering or exiting the premises
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies or emergency services when necessary
Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
Previous experience in security or related field is preferred
Familiarity with CCTV systems and their operation is a plus
Solid observational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
Intermediate computer skills for record keeping and communication purposes
Qualifications:
British Columbia Security Guard License is a must
Class 5 Driver's License is a must
First Aid, CPR is an asset
Submit a Criminal Record Check
Undergo drug and alcohol test
Working Conditions:
14 days on, 14 days off
12 hour shifts
Up to 10kms of walking per shift
Occasional work in cold weather

Travel to site is the responsibility of the employee
Pay: From $18.75 per hour
Expected hours: 42.0 per week
