Area Manager II
at its fulfillment centre in

About the Role: Area Manager II Day to day, you'll conduct planning sessions with your team, coach associates through operational challenges, and develop their leadership capabilities. You'll use
advanced analytics
to diagnose root causes of performance gaps, facilitate alignment meetings with senior leadership, and make data-driven decisions that balance competing priorities. Your work touches all three stages of Amazon's fulfilment workflow —
first mile ,
middle mile , and
last mile
— ensuring customer orders are delivered on time and to the right location.
This role also comes with real
physical demands : you'll be on your feet for shifts of up to 12 hours, working in environments with variable noise levels and temperatures, and occasionally lifting up to 49 pounds. Safety is a core value at Amazon, and Area Managers are expected to model and uphold the highest

Benefits and Salary The base salary for this
Area Manager II
position ranges from
$75,000 to $105,000 CAD annually , depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
Amazon's total compensation package may also include sign-on payments and

Responsibilities As an Area Manager II, your role is equal parts people leadership and operational excellence. You'll be accountable for the safety, quality, productivity, and delivery performance of your department — which means no two days look exactly the same. Here's what the work typical involves:
Lead and develop
a team of up to 80 hourly associates, mentoring them through day-to-day challenges and building their capabilities over time
Drive operational improvements
at the department level, implementing scalable process changes that can impact 200+ associates across multiple workflows
Collaborate cross-functionally
with Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance,
and Human Resources to develop and execute plans that meet business objectives
Diagnose performance gaps
using advanced analytics, identifying root causes and developing data-driven action plans
Facilitate alignment meetings
with senior leadership on department-level goals and priorities
Manage customer delivery promises , ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and on time across all three workflow stages
Model safety standards , working in environments with variable temperatures, noise levels, and physical demands including lifting up to 49 lbs and standing for up to 12 hours per shift
Requirements / Skills Amazon is looking for candidates who combine
strong people management skills
with analytical thinking and a genuine drive to improve operations. You'll need to be comfortable working a flexible schedule — including weekends, nights, and holidays — and thrive under pressure in a high-volume environment. Preferred candidates will bring experience in
process improvement methodologies
and managing large teams.
2+ years of employee and performance management experience
is required for this role
Bachelor's degree or equivalent , or 2+ years of Amazon blue badge/FTE experience
Adaptable availability
including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
1+ years of experience
with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques (preferred)
Experience managing large teams
of 50 or more members (preferred)
Lean Six Sigma and/or Kaizen
process improvement experience is an asset
Relevant industry background
in logistics, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, hospitality, or customer-facing environments is an advantage
