Position Summary The Level I Security Systems Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and servicing of security, surveillance, structured cabling, and access control systems under established New Age standards and procedures.

This role requires a technician capable of working independently on standard installations while maintaining company quality standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.

The successful candidate will have strong installation skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to workmanship excellence.

Structured Cabling Infrastructure J-Hooks Basket Tray Ladder Tray Cable Support Systems Firestop Systems Bonding and Grounding Components





Proper cable dressing techniques Professional cable management Compliance with New Age installation standards

Fiber Optics Install fiber optic cable Install armored fiber cable Terminate fiber optic cable Perform basic fiber testing Assist with troubleshooting fiber systems

Surveillance Systems Axis Fixed Cameras Axis PTZ Cameras Axis Multi-Sensor Cameras Axis Intercom Systems

Device mounting Camera positioning Camera configuration Acceptance testing Surveillance maintenance inspections

Intrusion Systems Mount alarm panel enclosures Install backup batteries Install power supplies Terminate zones Terminate keypads Install communication modules Label field wiring Assist in system testing Perform alarm panel commissioning

Access Control Systems Mount control panels Install power supplies Terminate readers Terminate door contacts Install REX devices Install locking hardware Perform door testing Complete system commissioning Perform access control maintenance work

Conduit & Pathways EMT FMC LFMC RMC

Measuring and bending EMT Installation of supports Wire pulling Connector installation

Required Qualifications Experience 2+ years of security, low-voltage, electrical, or structured cabling experience Experience installing commercial security systems Experience with structured cabling installations Ability to read drawings and floor plans





Technical Requirements ATC Certification EMT Installation Alarm Rough-In Cable Support Systems Cat6A Structured Cabling Fiber Installation Axis Camera Installation Alarm Panel Termination ULC Fire Alarm Inspections Surveillance Maintenance Access Control Maintenance

Required Certifications Working at Heights WHMIS Valid Ontario Driver's License Ability to obtain site security clearances when required

Preferred Certifications ATC Certification Axis Training Lift Certification First Aid / CPR Manufacturer Certifications

Safety Responsibilities Follow New Age Health & Safety policies Maintain PPE requirements Follow Working at Heights procedures Conduct Job Hazard Assessments Complete vehicle inspections Maintain company vehicles Maintain tools and equipment Keep worksites clean and organized

Required certifications include

Working at Heights WHMIS Aerial Lift (Scissor Lift) Aerial Lift (Boom Lift)
