About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager , the Operations Manager will play a critical leadership role in the strategic direction, growth, and overall performance of Vancouver Pile Driving.

You will oversee a portfolio of complex construction projects, provide leadership to project teams, strengthen client relationships, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.

The successful candidate will be a trusted business partner, a strong people leader, and a champion of continuous improvement with a focus on long-term sustainability and growth.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Support the development and execution of business unit strategy and operational objectives.

Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Project Managers and project teams.

Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and high performance.

Drive operational excellence across all projects and business functions.

Oversee a diverse portfolio of marine, industrial, and civil construction projects.





Monitor project performance, schedules, risks, and resource allocation.

Ensure projects align with organizational objectives and client expectations.

Review project execution strategies and implement improvements where needed.

Financial & Business Performance

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.

Review project financial performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.

Prepare and present monthly operational and financial reports.

Support risk management and commercial decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Business Development & Client Relations

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.

Support business development initiatives and strategic growth opportunities.

Identify emerging market opportunities and contribute to future portfolio expansion.

Represent Vancouver Pile Driving as a trusted industry partner.

Drive improvements in operational processes, project delivery methods, and performance measurement.

Analyze operational challenges and implement practical, sustainable solutions.

Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity to inform business decisions.

Safety Leadership

Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all operations.

Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Lead by example and reinforce Vancouver Pile Driving's commitment to sending everyone home safely.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

Significant leadership experience within the construction, marine, industrial, heavy civil, or infrastructure sectors.

Proven experience managing multiple large-scale projects and diverse project teams.

Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, financial management, forecasting, and risk mitigation.





Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams and developing future leaders.

Robust business acumen with the ability to balance operational priorities and long‑term strategic objectives.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Professional Engineering designation, technical degree, or relevant construction management education is considered an asset.

Salary: $165 - $185k per annum

The actual salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined based on job‑related factors including relevant experience, years of experience, qualifications, internal equity, and Carlson Construction Group’s compensation policy.
