About Wenchu Education

Wenchu Education is an Academic Learning Centre in Richmond, BC, providing academic learning programs for elementary and middle school students.

Our programs are offered after school, on weekends, and during school breaks. We focus on small-group instruction and personalized academic support in English, Math, Science, and ELL.

Position Overview

The Science Teacher will work with elementary and middle school students in small-group classes.

The position includes both science theory instruction and straightforward hands-on science experiments. The teacher should be able to explain scientific concepts clearly, guide students through age-appropriate activities, and help students develop scientific thinking, vocabulary, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
Teach elementary and middle school Science
Deliver both science theory lessons and simple hands-on experiments
Explain scientific concepts clearly and in an age-appropriate manner
Prepare and organize lessons based on students’ grade levels and learning needs




Help students understand key scientific concepts and vocabulary

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or above in Science or a related scientific field
Fluent in both English and Chinese
Strong English communication skills
Able to explain scientific concepts clearly to children and teenagers
Responsible, patient, organized, and reliable
Comfortable working with elementary and middle school students
Able to work independently and prepare appropriate teaching materials
Previous Science teaching and ELL experience is prefered.

Schedule

This is a part-time position.

Classes may be scheduled:
After school on weekdays
Weekends
School breaks and holidays

Teaching hours will depend on class scheduling and student enrollment.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2.0 – 10.0 per week
