The Alberta Utilities Commission is seeking an intermediate to senior Counsel to provide legal support within the utility sector. This pivotal role involves analyzing legal issues, offering advice on Commission rulings, and representing the AUC in court. The successful candidate will engage directly with cross-disciplinary teams and serve as a resource for regulatory matters impacting electricity and gas markets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide legal support on AUC-related issues
• Analyze legal matters and prepare memos/opinions
• Advise on correspondence and Commission findings
• Represent AUC at the Alberta Court of Appeal
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cases
Requirements:
• LL.B. and four years of relevant experience
• Member of Law Society of Alberta
• Litigation experience is a strong asset
• Excellent research and writing skills
• Strong organization and communication abilities
