Job Description
The Senior Risk Management Specialist will support TTC's Project Delivery Department and work with the Project Control and Risk team to implement and maintain risk management practices across major capital projects. Responsibilities include risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, quantitative risk analysis, risk workshops, reporting, and Monte Carlo simulations.
Key Responsibilities
Support project teams in implementing and maintaining project risk management practices
Develop and maintain project risk registers
Facilitate risk workshops and risk review meetings
Identify, assess, prioritize, monitor, and control project risks
Perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis
Conduct Monte Carlo simulations for cost and schedule contingency analysis
Prepare Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) reports
Support traditional and alternative procurement risk assessments
Compile risk information and prepare quarterly reporting
Participate in continuous improvement of risk management procedures
Develop and execute QRA work plans
Conduct:
Schedule Review Workshops
Risk Registry Review Workshops
Produce draft and final QRA reports
Support development of risk cost breakdown structures and contingency drawdown curves.
Mandatory Qualifications / Specifications
Experience
20+ years conducting project risk analysis on large, complex capital projects
Extensive experience facilitating workshops and conducting Quantitative Risk Assessments
Experience performing QRA throughout the full project lifecycle
Experience with:
Cost QRA
Schedule QRA
Residual Risk Analysis from Risk Registers
Preliminary Design
Detailed Design
Construction stages
Demonstrated experience leading QRA workshops.
Technical Expertise
Advanced knowledge of:
Quantitative Risk Analysis methodologies
Risk principles, procedures, and tools
Integration of cost, schedule, and risk impacts
Strong understanding of engineering and construction methodologies
Understanding of project owner and project execution requirements
Knowledge of construction procurement methods and allocation of risk/responsibility between owner and contractor.
Tools
Hands-on experience with:
@Risk
Other relevant software applications.
Soft Skills
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage large volumes of data
Ability to act as a subject matter expert and provide recommendations
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong time management and prioritization skills.
Education
Post-secondary diploma or university degree in a related discipline such as:
Construction Management
Project Management
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
