Job Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing hands-on maintenance activities to ensure the efficient and safe operation of production equipment and facility systems. This role supports preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and rapid response to equipment failures to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity.
When assigned, the Maintenance Technician may serve as a Maintenance Lead, providing technical guidance, coordinating work priorities, and supporting less experienced technicians.
Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and operational failures in production equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics to identify equipment malfunctions.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify early signs of failure.
Documentation & Compliance
- Document and maintain accurate records of maintenance work orders and repair activities.
- Follow all safety, food safety, GMP, and company procedures.
- Ensure proper use of tools and adherence to safe work practices.
Collaboration & Improvement
- Work closely with production teams to support continuous operations.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Plant Engineer and Maintenance Manger.
Qualifications
· Technical training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field, or relevant practical experience.
· Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments is an asset.
