Horizon Health Network is seeking a full-time Anatomical Pathologist to join the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Saint John Regional Hospital , the principal tertiary-care referral centre for southern New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada's leading centre for advanced care.
The successful candidate will join a collegial group of pathologists providing comprehensive diagnostic services to Saint John and the surrounding region. Saint John Regional Hospital is a major teaching hospital affiliated with Dalhousie University Medical School and supports undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
The Department of Laboratory Medicine provides a full range of anatomical pathology services, processing a diverse and complex spectrum of surgical pathology, cytopathology, and autopsy specimens from a tertiary-care referral population across southern Recent Brunswick. The department is supported by a state-of-the-art Molecular Diagnostics and Cytogenetics Program that delivers comprehensive testing across solid tumor oncology, hematologic malignancies, and inherited (germline) disorders.
While all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, preference will be given to candidates with fellowship training and/or significant experience in one or more of the following areas:
Renal Pathology
Molecular Pathology

Incentives & Remuneration This position offers highly competitive remuneration for the position is based on New Brunswick Medicare’s Alternate Funding Plan (AFP).
Successful applicants may be eligible to receive the following:
Urban recruitment incentive of $50,000.00 with a 2-year return of service.
Moving expense reimbursement is also available.
What you will do The physician will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, adhere to evidence-based practices aligned with Horizon Health Network’s mission.
Provide diagnostic anatomical pathology services, including surgical pathology and intraoperative consultation
Participate in subspecialty sign-out and multidisciplinary case conferences
Contribute to quality assurance, accreditation, and laboratory improvement initiatives
Participate in medical education for students, residents, and fellows
Engage in clinical research and scholarly activities as desired
Share in departmental on-call responsibilities

Who you are Applicants must:
Hold an MD degree (or equivalent)
Be certified in Anatomical Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent acceptable credentials)
Be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick
Demonstrate excellence in diagnostic surgical pathology
Possess strong communication and teamwork skills
Be committed to teaching, quality assurance, and continuous professional development
The physician must also meet continuing education requirements, adhere to departmental and health authority policies, comply with relevant legislation, and follow professional ethical standards set by regulatory bodies.
