The Junior CMM/Operator -Programmer supports and takes direction from QC Manager and uses the proven techniques for quality inspection. His primarily responsible for verifying that received raw materials as well as finished products are acceptable to use for production and to perform first off, in process and final inspection of machine parts, assemblies, etc.
1- Training, Experience, Education and Skill Requirements
Diploma or Certificate in related field Industrial Engineering/Mechanical Engineering
CMM Software Programming Certificate
Knowledge of quality control terminology, methods, and tools
Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices, version control practices and defect management practice
Desire 2+ years' experience that includes blueprint reading and comparing parts and assemblies to customer requirements
Organizational skills; accurate data collection, storage and retrieval
Clear understanding of material identification, control and traceability
Ability to select and use proper inspection tools
Ability to Operate CMM Machines and Edit CMM Programs.
Ability to identify, define and describe non-conformances or defects
Must be able to work in a manufacturing workplace
Ability to learn and use quality ERP system
Experience in manufacturing of parts for aerospace or defense
Review and analyze test and SPC data using SPC tools,
spreadsheets and other programs as required.
2- Job Related Duties & Responsibilities.
Follow quality management system policies and procedures as per AS 9100 International Standard
Primary responsibility for safety in all areas of the assigned duties, to ensure safety rules and regulations are met due to the use of high-speed industrial mechanical tools.
Perform final, in-process and first off inspection of parts
Prepare inspections reports as required.
Ability to Operate CMM Machines and Edit CMM Programs.
Ability to use inspection hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.
Good understanding of engineering drawings
Ability to understand and interpret material and process specifications
Inspection may include the maneuvering and of lifting heavy or awkward items
Regularly interact with engineering groups, manufacturing, supply chain
Good math skills and computer software proficiency (i.e., Excel, Word)
Collaborates and supports continuous improvements that increases organizational clarity and process improvement
Follow applicable work instructions and maintain appropriate records.
Understanding and use of statistical methods
Understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerance
