EPCOR has a need for an experienced Project Scheduler to support the CETR Program Management team in executing multiple high voltage transmission projects. This individual will have relevant experience in scheduling complex projects utilizing Primavera P6 . The Successful Proponent will be responsible for creating, updating and coordinating project schedules utilizing Primavera and supporting a team of Project Managers in the delivery of a project from inception through to close out, including: schedule creation, monitoring, updating, and distribution.

The AESO has determined system reinforcements are needed in the Edmonton Planning Region to reliably serve load and mitigate constraints related to the 72 kV transmission system in the City of Edmonton. The CETR Project is focused around the construction of one new substation at Fort Road, improvement of two existing substations (Namao and Clover Bar substations), construction of two new transmission lines (240kV and 72kV), and the salvage of existing 240kV and 72kV transmission lines in the area. The Project Team requires an individual with the expertise to establish reliable relationships between EDTI and service proponents, through vetted and audited contracts.

Pay Rate: C$50.00–C$100.00 / Hour (CAD)

Job Summary

updating and coordinating project schedules utilizing Primavera and supporting a team of Project Managers in the delivery of a project from inception through to close out, including: schedule creation, monitoring, updating, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule creation, monitoring, updating, and distribution.

Consulting with project managers and technical experts to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks.

Developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective scheduling management system.

Coordinating project timelines with internal departments and external stakeholders.

Monitoring project timelines and deadlines.

Identifying potential project schedule delays and facilitating intervention in a timely manner.

Evaluating performance and preparing project progress reports.

Accommodating updates and changes to project schedules.





Reporting to the Manager of Project Controls to support the transmission team in executing multiple high voltage transmission projects.

Adhering to deadlines provided by the Manager of Project Controls and the Project Manager of City of Edmonton Transmission Reinforcement upon commencement of duties.

Providing deliverables identified by the Manager of Project Controls and the Project Manager(s).

Completing monthly time reports and submitting as backup with invoices.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering; or a relevant technical certificate or diploma.

Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is highly desirable.

Required Experience

4 years of schedule management experience, preferably in a construction environment using Primavera P6.

Experience creating project schedules, working with project codes, activity codes, user defined columns, budget and actual resources, and resource management.

Experience in auditing schedule information for accuracy.

Experience in providing information, data and scenarios to assist project teams in expediting project schedules.

Experience with utility construction in energized substations is an asset.

Thorough understanding and experience of foundation Project Management processes and procedures aligned with the Project Management Body of Knowledge.

Canadian Electric Utilities experience (e.g., EPCOR, ATCO, AltaLink, BC Hydro, SaskPower, Manitoba Hydro, Hydro One) is a robust asset.

Required Skills

Proficiency in Primavera P6 for complex project scheduling.

Ability to develop and share layouts and data as required by different stakeholders.

Sound knowledge of critical path scheduling and key milestone portfolio management techniques.

Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
