Business Analyst
Location
Ottawa, ON, Canada (Hybrid - 12 days on-site per month)
Pay Rate
$70 - $80/hr [CAD]
Education
A university degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Public Administration, Operations Management, Management Consulting, or a related field.
Lean, Six Sigma, Business Process Management, Prosci, or equivalent certification.
Must Have Skills
7+ years of experience in business analysis, process improvement, operational transformation, or program modernization within large and complex organizations
3+ years of experience conducting Current-State Assessments, Gap analyses, Governance reviews, Risk assessments and Process improvement initiatives.
Experience supporting initiatives involving security screening, access management, compliance, risk management, workflow automation, digital transformation, or operational resilience.
Solid experience gathering, documenting, analyzing, and validating business and functional requirements.
Strong stakeholder consultation and requirements-gathering experience.
Experience with process mapping, root-cause analysis, gap analysis, and business process re-engineering.
Experience designing or assessing governance frameworks, operating models, workflows, accountability structures, risk controls, and escalation processes.
ServiceNow experience , specifically involving workflow automation, case management, approval processes, reporting, or business process modernization.
Experience developing requirements/recommendations for workflow automation, process digitization, reporting, and process modernization.
Proficiency with business analysis/process tools such as Microsoft Visio, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, Jira, and/or Confluence.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct current-state assessments of security screening, access management, contractor screening and visitor management processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, risks and improvement opportunities
Engage and consult with stakeholders to gather business requirements, document pain points, assess future needs and support the development of program recommendations
Assess governance, risk management, decision-making, accountability, delegation and escalation processes to ensure alignment with operational and security requirements
Develop process improvement recommendations to simplify, standardize, streamline, digitize and automate program processes based on industry best practices and benchmarking analysis
Design future-state operating models and process frameworks for the Security Screening and Access Management Program, including governance structures, workflows, roles and responsibilities utilizing ServiceNOW
Develop business requirements and implementation recommendations to support digital enablement initiatives, including workflow automation, reporting capabilities and process modernization solutions
Establish performance measurement frameworks by defining key performance indicators, baseline measures, reporting requirements and benefit realization approaches to support continuous improvement
Develop implementation roadmaps, change enablement strategies, training materials and executive-level recommendations to support the successful modernization and long-term sustainability of the Security Screening and Access Management Program
