L3Harris is inviting motivated college students to apply for the CNC Optical Technician Co-op position starting January 2027. As part of the Wescam division, you will gain experience in generating and polishing optical components using various CNC equipment. Ideal candidates will have a background in Photonics or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Key Responsibilities:
• Set up CNC programs and CAN cycles using G-code
• Grind and edge optical components with precision CNC machines
• Polish optical components, including aspheric varieties
• Inspect optical components for specification conformity
• Maintain and troubleshoot CNC equipment as needed
Requirements:
• Enrolled in a relevant diploma program (Photonics/Mechanical Engineering)
• Solid technical knowledge and ability to read drawings
• Independent work capability with minimal supervision
• Comprehend detailed instructions effectively
• Experience with CNC and precision optics machinery
