Atlantic Electronics Ltd. has been Keeping You on the Water Since 1973, and we're looking for an experienced Service Manager to join our Lunenburg team. This is a hands‑on leadership position for someone with solid technical experience who can lead a team, manage a busy service schedule, coordinate large-scale projects, and work alongside our technicians in the field.
Duties & Responsibilities Working hands-on as a Marine Electronics Service Technician, including installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and service calls
Leading, supporting, and providing technical guidance to a team of service technicians
Managing technician schedules and assigning work based on priority, location, and experience
Coordinating overtime, travel, after-hours calls, and on-call coverage
Managing multiple active jobs and changing priorities
Planning and coordinating large-scale marine electronics installations and projects involving technicians, contractors, shipyards, and other trades
Monitoring project timelines, labour requirements, resources, and job progress
Communicating directly with customers throughout service work and larger projects
Coordinating with other Atlantic Electronics locations when additional technicians or resources are required
Ensuring work is completed efficiently, properly documented, and ready for invoicing
Skills & Qualifications This is not an entry-level management position. We're looking for someone with proven technical experience and the ability to lead others. Marine electronics experience is strongly preferred, although relevant experience in electronics, electrical, telecommunications, industrial service, or a similar technical field may be considered.
The successful candidate should have:

Strong hands-on technical and troubleshooting experience
Previous leadership, supervisory, or team-lead experience
The ability to lead and support technicians in the field
Strong scheduling, organization, and workforce coordination skills
Experience managing larger projects with multiple moving parts
The ability to manage multiple jobs, deadlines, and changing priorities
Strong customer service and communication skills
Confidence making decisions and providing direction
The ability to work independently and take ownership of jobs and projects from start to finish
The Person We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who can lead from the front. You should be just as comfortable organizing a team and managing a major project as you are grabbing your tools and heading aboard a vessel to troubleshoot a problem.
You can make decisions, communicate clearly, keep people organized, and step in when your team needs technical support. You understand the importance of customer service, deadlines, accountability, and getting vessels back on the water.
Most importantly, you take ownership and see the job through.
Working Conditions Marine service doesn't always happen between regular business hours. Customers may require urgent service, vessels have schedules to meet, and projects can change quickly. Travel, overtime, after-hours work, and flexibility are key parts of this position.
The Service Manager must be comfortable both coordinating and personally participating in:
Overtime and after-hours service
Emergency and time-sensitive service calls
Travel throughout Atlantic Canada
Overnight and multi-day jobs
Rotating on-call coverage
Large installations and projects
Last-minute changes to technician and project schedules
