This CNC programmer is able to program complex parts and fixtures for 3 and 5 axis machines using Mastercam. They will be required to complete all set-up documentation. Can read and interpret drawings and CAD files and is expected to communicate closely with set-up operators as well as engineering and quality teams in a problem-solving capacity.
1-Experience, Education and Skill Requirements College diploma or engineering degree in related field
General Machinist C of Q and or C of A (Preferred)
Minimum 5 years in a precision machining workplace
Minimum 5 years programming precision components using Mastercam software
Experience with vericut is an asset
Demonstrates experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Demonstrates experience in Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;)
Demonstrates experience in developing work-holding strategies and fixture design
Is able to perform accurate process planning
Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
Works effectively with little supervision
2-Job Related Duties & Responsibilities Follow quality management system policies and procedures as per AS 9100 International Standard.
Determine machining and work holding strategies.
Complete all set-up documentation for each job.
Design and program fixtures needed to produce parts.
Builds 3d models for parts where not provided by the customer.
Provide shop floor support during set-up and first-off process.
Maintain continuous process improvement to reduce cost, improve quality and increase throughput.
Maintain work area clean and organized, follow health and safety rules at Coordinate Industries Ltd.
Produce detailed manufacturing process plans.
Verify programs using Mastercam and Vericut.
Coaches team members and provides training to other programmers.
Involved in design change recommendations in order to improve machinability.
