About the Project
iLumival Productions is seeking an experienced and highly organized Associate Producer to join the team for Latino à Gatineau, a four-part documentary series exploring Latin American food, culture, personal stories and community in Gatineau.
This is a hands-on production role supporting the Producer/Director across pre-production, production and post-production.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys bringing structure to creative projects, is proactive about solving problems, communicates well with crew and vendors, and can independently manage production logistics while keeping the Producer/Director informed.
The Role
Pre-Production — Primary Focus
The successful candidate will take a leading role in organizing and preparing the production for filming. This includes coordinating key logistical elements such as permits, insurance, scheduling, crew and vendors, production documentation, clearances and overall production readiness.
You will help turn the production plan into a practical, organized schedule and identify potential logistical issues before they affect the shoot.
Production
The Associate Producer / Production Manager will provide hands-on support during the scheduled production days in Gatineau, helping keep the production moving efficiently and on schedule.
This includes coordinating with crew, monitoring the production schedule and shot list, supporting the Producer/Director while she is on camera, and helping troubleshoot logistical issues as they arise.
Post-Production
Following production, you will assist with coordinating the post-production process, working with the Producer/Director and post-production team to help keep the project organized and moving toward delivery.
This may include tracking post-production schedules, coordinating review rounds and notes, organizing deliverables and documentation, and helping ensure outstanding production or clearance matters are resolved before final delivery.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for a mid-level to experienced production professional with demonstrated experience in film, television, documentary or digital media production.
Experience in production coordination, production management, associate producing or a similar role
A strong understanding of film/television production workflows
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong communication and follow-through
The ability to work independently and proactively
Experience coordinating crew, vendors, locations and production logistics
Comfort working with schedules, budgets and production documentation
The ability to anticipate problems and find practical solutions
A collaborative approach and the ability to work closely with a Producer/Director
Professionalism and discretion when working with production participants and partners
Experience with documentary production is an asset
Familiarity with the Gatineau/Ottawa production workplace is an asset
We are particularly interested in someone who can grow with the production beyond the shoot and provide reliable organizational support through post-production and final delivery.
Working Relationship
The Producer/Director will retain overall producing and creative authority for the project. The Associate Producer / Production Manager will work collaboratively with the Producer/Director and take ownership of the agreed production-management and coordination responsibilities.
This is a project-based freelance engagement, with the majority of pre-production work conducted remotely and scheduled according to the needs of the production. On-set work will take place in Gatineau.
