Alberta Infrastructure is responsible for delivering about one quarter of the Alberta government’s Capital Plan, which addresses the provincial infrastructure needs of Alberta’s population that support key social programs and services and economic development.

The Ministry designs, builds, manages, and maintains government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that school and hospital infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population. Infrastructure also provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value for Albertans.

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the planning, delivery, and evaluation of operations and maintenance services, including project delivery associated with maintaining asset value for an assigned building (or land) portfolio. This position has a key role in planning and developing contract specifications, administering contracts and agreements, and monitoring associated deliverables for compliance and quality assurance.



The facilities coordinator also oversees the activities of service providers associated with various agreements and contracts and/or supervises in-house staff members to ensure client and Ministry service delivery standards are met.

The primary responsibilities for the Facilities Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
Coordinating and administering operation and maintenance services to maintain asset value of the assigned portfolio.
Providing input to development of contracts for maintenance services, operations services, and projects.
Administering financial resources associated with operations and maintenance services.
Managing consultant investigations, including selection, coordination, stakeholder engagement, and reporting on findings and cost estimates.
Providing leadership to facilitate provision of high quality and responsive operations and maintenance services for the assigned portfolio.
Coordinating the development of maintenance, occupational health and safety, security, and emergency plans for the assigned portfolio.
Supervising and supporting in-house staff members on site during building (or land) related emergencies on weeknights, weekends, and holidays, outside the regular work hours.
The successful candidate will have:
Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship management skills to interact with diverse clients, contractors, landlords and stakeholders.
The ability to function independently as well as lead and contribute effectively within a team environment.




Mediation and conflict resolution skills to resolve client, landlord, contractor and other complex issues.
The ability to prioritize work, multi-task, and function effectively in a agile work environment.
Problem solving and decision-making skills, including ability to research and analyze information obtained from varied sources and develop solutions and recommendations for consideration of decision-makers.
Contract management and project coordination skills.

Two-year technical Diploma in a related field
PLUS Six (6) years related experience
Valid class 5 driver’s license.
Assets:
Able to interpret contract and lease documents.
Notes This position is a Permanent, full-time role with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25, Monday to Friday (8:15 am – 4:30 pm).
