Accountant
An accountant is responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and providing financial advice to organizations or individuals. They play a crucial role in helping businesses make informed financial decisions and maintain financial stability.
Key Responsibilites Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and documenting business transactions in accordance with GAAP.
Perform an analytical review of accounts monthly and at year-end.
Reconcile Income Statement and Balance sheets accounts.
Perform a wide variety of cost accounting functions including job costing, monthly sales flash and cost of sales analysis, profitability, and variance analysis (Cost/Price/Margin/Burden rates), WIP and Inventory valuation.
Develop and maintain a profitability analysis by product, customer, revenue type, operational division, etc.
as well as benchmarking and operating efficiency targets.
Consolidation of financial data/records and preparation of financial statements, reports, budgets, and forecasts for the business
Assists in the development and implementation of key processes, policies, and procedures to enhance operations efficiency and effectiveness
Education and Experience Post-secondary education; Degree in Accounting/Finance
3 + years of accounting experience in a manufacturing workplace
Experience in financial reporting including consolidation of financial records and preparation of financial statements, analyzing financial data to support business decisions.
Skills and Abilities Familiar with multi-divisional companies and foreign exchange exposure
Proficient in the use of ERP systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
