Kozak Ukrainian Eatery is hiring a full time Production Cook for our East Vancouver commissary kitchen.
This is a high-volume food-production role involving ingredient preparation and cooking Ukrainian dishes in large batches according to recipes and daily production plans.
Previous professional kitchen experience is an asset but is not required. We are looking for someone who works quickly, stays organized, follows instructions and is comfortable with repetitive kitchen tasks. Training on our recipes, procedures and equipment will be provided on the job.
Schedule and Availability
Full availability is required. Shifts may include:
Morning shifts starting at 5:30 a.m.
Afternoon shifts starting at 12:00 p.m.
Weekdays, weekends and statutory holidays
Applicants must be available for either shift based on the production schedule. This position is not suitable for candidates with only morning, afternoon or limited-day availability.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook food according to recipes and production plans
Complete tasks quickly while maintaining quality and portion consistency
Measure, weigh, mix, chop, peel, slice and portion ingredients
Prepare meats, vegetables, fillings, sauces and other products in batches
Set up and organize workstations
Operate commercial kitchen equipment after receiving training
Follow recipe quantities, cooking times and preparation instructions
Label, date, cool, rotate and store food correctly
Clean and sanitize work areas,
equipment and utensils
Report shortages, delays, mistakes and equipment problems
Assist with other kitchen and production duties as needed
Requirements
Full availability for morning, afternoon, weekday, weekend and statutory-holiday shifts
Ability to work quickly throughout the shift
Ability to follow recipes, production plans and verbal instructions
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Ability to stay organized while completing multiple tasks
Willingness to learn and accept feedback
Ability to safely use knives and kitchen equipment after training
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to safely lift up to 20–25 kg when required, with reasonable accommodation
