Senior Financial Accounting & Reporting Expert Location: Montreal, QC Hybrid Language: Fluent French Mandatory Employment: Full-Time Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Financial Accounting & Reporting Expert with deep expertise in IFRS, accounting standards, and financial instruments .
The role will advise Canadian financial institutions and public companies on complex accounting matters and requires strong professional judgment, leadership, and an entrepreneurial mindset.
The successful candidate should be interested in being part of the Montreal office team and comfortable working onsite when required.
Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex accounting and financial reporting engagements .
Advise clients on the application and interpretation of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards .
Analyze complex financial instruments, including derivatives, debt, financing, equity, and hedge accounting .
Prepare and review complex technical analyses, accounting positions, and technical memos.
Advise clients on complex and emerging accounting matters requiring significant professional judgment.
Support financial institutions in developing and enhancing accounting policies.
Review deliverables and guide multidisciplinary teams on complex engagements.
Build long-term client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
Contribute to the development and growth of new advisory service offerings.
Support Partners and leadership teams with practice development initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience 15+ years of relevant experience. 5+ years in qualified or advisory services.
Strong expertise in financial instruments mandatory/core requirement.
Experience with at least one of: Banking Insurance Investment Funds Canadian Public Companies Organizations using complex financial products Experience in financial institution audit, technical accounting advisory, or accounting policy development.
