Burlington Automation, a Lincoln Electric Company, designs and manufactures automatic cnc metal fabrication machinery, tube finishing equipment and material handling equipment. Fabricating machinery includes the PythonX structural steel fabrication system, CNC machining centers, CNC drill lines, beam lines, punch lines and angle lines.

Major Responsibilities





Provide technical support for global customer base by telephone, email etc.

Periodic Overnight, Weekend and/or Holiday ‘On Call’ support via 24/7 phone system

Install aftermarket parts/products; test to ensure they are functioning to standard

Educate customers on maintaining/following a preventative maintenance schedule

Prepare quotes and sales orders for spare parts and consumables

Complete detailed reports and service tickets documenting work that has been performed

Communicate to customer all service-related work and proactive recommendations to increase up- time

Build and maintain relationships with customers

To facilitate training of new hires

Prepare and maintain up to date documentation

Develop processes and procedures to guide customers, training and customer service groups

Conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by Operations Manager in a timely and professional manner.

To actively participate in company, staff or individual one-on-one meetings on an ongoing basis for the purposes of effective teamwork, enhanced communication and progressive co-operation strategies within the department, as well as other departments across the company.

To continually contribute to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by

initiating, recommending and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.

To fully abide and actively support Lincoln Electric’s Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment,



the conservation of nature resources and the Health & Safety of all employees

To conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Service Manager in a timely and professional manner

Position Requirements & Factors
Education Skills and Aptitude:

Post Secondary experience or 5+ years of related service technician expeirence

3+ years’ experience as a Service Technician is required

Strong mechanical skills to include conveyor repairs, levelling and replacement of wear items (bearings, chains, sprockets, etc.)

Strong electrical skills to include troubleshooting low voltage, electrical panels and 480V

Strong pneumatic skills

Must be able to read mechanical and electrical drawings

Familiar with ABB and Fanuc Robotic Systems

Ability to use basic hand and power tools, multi-meter, etc.

Ability to work flexible hours around a changing schedule

Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational, interpersonal and diagnostic skills

Ability to work independently without supervision

Ability to travel as required

Current and valid driver's license

Experience and/or knowledge in the steel fabrication industry and related software design packages is an asset
