AgMedica Bioscience Inc. is currently hiring an Assistant Grower to join our Cultivation team within our cannabis production facility.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with horticulture, agriculture, greenhouse, or commercial cultivation experience who has strong attention to detail, leadership skills, and an interest in supporting the production of high-quality cannabis within a regulated environment.
Monday to Friday
Steady day shift
On-call weekend coverage as required
$24.00-$26.00/hour (based on experience)

Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with Growers to support plant health, quality, and yields throughout the growing process
Monitor plant health and identify potential pests, diseases, or contamination risks
Monitor grow room environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, CO2, lighting, and air movement
Perform grow rounds, scouting, and data collection
Support Integrated Pest Management (IPM) activities, including tissue sampling and scheduled testing
Support fertilizer and pesticide mixing activities
Maintain accurate cultivation documentation, Batch Production Records (BPRs), and environmental records
Support cultivation trials, including tracking and entering trial data
Track operational measures and support cultivation KPIs
Work with Cultivation leadership to ensure compliance with SOPs, quality, sanitation, and safety requirements
Identify and report potential hazards, production issues, or contamination risks
Support continuous improvement activities within the Cultivation department
Provide coverage in other areas as required
The role also supports cultivation trials, KPI tracking and cross-department coverage, while following Cannabis Act requirements, GMP, GACP and company SOPs.
Requirements
Post-secondary diploma in horticulture or agriculture
Experience in commercial cannabis cultivation, greenhouse, or vegetable growing operations preferred
Demonstrated leadership ability
Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
Pesticide Safety certification
Knowledge of Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP) considered an asset
Strong problem-solving and attention-to-detail skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced and changing workplace
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
Basic math and English language skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Ability to lift up to 25 kg/55 lbs and perform physical cultivation activities for extended periods
Must be 19 years of age or older
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
These qualifications come directly from the current JD, including the horticulture/agriculture education requirement, leadership, cultivation experience preference, IPM knowledge and pesticide certification.
