This is a full-time, on-site role for an NPI Engineer (Recent Product Introduction) located in Victoria, BC. The NPI Engineer is responsible for overseeing the introduction of new products from concept through production. The role involves coordinating with multiple departments, managing projects, and ensuring that new products meet quality and performance standards. Day-to-day tasks include conducting research and development, managing product testing, and ensuring effective project management throughout the product development lifecycle.
Position Responsibilities Oversee releasing product designs into a production environment (Supply Chain, Quality,
Process Development, Test Equipment Development, Packaging and others)
Champion of Lean manufacturing in product and process development
Own the overall value stream for the production and delivery of product
Ensuring compliance to industry standards for environment, health, and safety
Track and report on bill of material and labor targets for new products
Plan, execute, and report on prototype, pilot, and pre-production build objectives
Understanding the principles of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT)
Good understanding of electrical schematic and mechanical assembly drawings
Manage workload on several concurrent projects
Specify production processes and test equipment
Adheres to companywide and department specific technical and safety guidelines
About the Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Technologist Diploma or equivalent work experience
Experience with Microsoft Office
At least 3+ years of work-related experience
Working knowledge of electrical, software, or mechanical systems within mobile equipment
Experience in a production/assembly environment including working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
Experience in a waterfall and agile project management

Outstanding organizational, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
Possess continuous improvement mindset and ability to present ideas within the team
Demonstrated hands-on PFMEA/DFMEA experience – able to speak to a specific example of running or contributing to a PFMEA/DFMEA session, not just familiarity with the tool
Working experience with formal Engineering Change Management and MRP/ERP tools
Experience specifying, commissioning, or validating production test equipment, fixtures, or assembly lines
Understand and have worked within a standard NPI stage-gate deliverable program from a firsthand perspective. Own or part ownership of a project schedule, milestone and its deliverables
Requires sitting for long periods of time in an office environment and/or working on a computer with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to walk on the manufacturing floor with or without reasonable accommodations
Able to travel up to 10% of the time with or without reasonable accommodation
Able to perform lifting to 30 pounds.
