Join Cowichan Estuary Nature Centre as a Marine Aquarist, caring for diverse marine life in a touch tank. This role requires excellent mechanical skills and a passion for aquaculture education.

We are seeking an experienced Marine Aquarist to manage animal husbandry and life support systems. This part time contract allows you to set your own schedule while ensuring the health of marine animals. You will maintain aquaria, communicate with stakeholders, and help educate the public about marine ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain freshwater and saltwater aquaria, ensuring animal health
• Upgrade equipment with approval from the Managing Director
• Communicate with local stakeholders and government agencies




• Collect specimens for aquaria restocking as needed
• Source and order high-quality food for marine animals

Requirements:
• High school diploma; marine biology coursework preferred
• 1-2 years experience with marine/reef aquariums
• Strong communication skills for community interactions
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors
• Successful Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
