Tourmaline Oil Corp. is a Canadian senior crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company, focused on long-term growth through an active exploration, development, production, and acquisition program in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin.We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Co-op Student or New Graduate to join our Finance & Accounting team as a Joint Venture Accountant. This is an excellent chance for an accounting student in their final year or a recent graduate who is looking to launch their career in the oil & gas industry and gain hands‑on experience in joint venture accounting.Working alongside experienced accounting professionals, you will develop practical skills in accounting, financial analysis, reconciliations, invoicing, reporting, and joint venture processes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a strong foundation in accounting while learning how financial information flows between operating companies and their joint venture
Responsibilities Process and reconcile joint venture billings, partner invoices, and cash calls
Record and reconcile accounting transactions and accounts; prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Manage partner receivables and payables; reconcile partner statements and follow up on outstanding items
Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting activities and prepare joint venture reports
Review transactions for accuracy and completeness; respond to partner inquiries and resolve accounting and billing issues with internal departments
Perform data entry and account analysis using accounting systems and Excel




Maintain organized accounting documentation and participate in process improvements and accounting projects
Develop expertise in joint venture and oil & gas accounting, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, cash calls and partner billings, revenue and expense accounting, month end and year end processes, and stakeholder communication

Experience Requirements Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration – Accounting,



or a related discipline.
Previous accounting work experience is an asset but not required.
Strong interest in pursuing a career in accounting.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and formatting.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
An interest in AI and emerging technologies as they apply to business and operations
