We are seeking an experienced and service-focused Investment Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with members to understand their financial goals and provide personalized investment, financial planning, estate planning, and wealth management solutions.
The successful candidate will be passionate about helping members achieve long-term financial success, while delivering exceptional service and promoting a full range of credit union products and services. This position offers an opportunity to build meaningful relationships, develop new business, and contribute to the overall growth of our wealth management portfolio.
What You’ll Do
Build and maintain robust relationships with members through proactive financial planning and wealth management services.
Conduct interviews and financial reviews to identify member goals, needs, opportunities, and challenges
Develop personalized financial plans and recommend solutions including:
Mutual fund & insurance referrals
Lending referrals
Provide ongoing follow-up and portfolio reviews to ensure member objectives remain aligned with financial strategies.




Open new accounts and ensure all required documentation and compliance requirements are completed accurately.
Contact members regarding maturing investments and provide appropriate renewal recommendations.
Assist with estate administration processes and meet with executors as required.
Business Development
Develop new business opportunities through referrals, networking, seminars, community engagement, and proactive outreach.
Promote the full range of products and services available through the credit union.
Identify opportunities to deepen member relationships through effective needs-based conversations.
Participate in achieving sales goals and supporting marketing initiatives.
Foster business growth through exceptional service, product knowledge, and relationship management.
Compliance & Operational Excellence
Ensure all investment and wealth management activities comply with applicable legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Maintain current knowledge of products, industry trends, compliance requirements, and regulatory changes.
Resolve complex member concerns and escalate issues when appropriate.
Complete monthly activity and tracking reports.
Participate in training initiatives and support cross-functional learning within the organization.
Adhere to all security, privacy, fraud prevention, and risk management requirements.
Team & Organizational Support
Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and respectful workplace culture.




Support organizational initiatives and provide cross-functional assistance when required.
Share knowledge and mentor team members through training and coaching opportunities.
Participate in committees, projects, and special initiatives as assigned.
What You Bring
Qualifications
Grade 12 diploma with post-secondary education, relevant industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
4 to 6 years of experience in investment sales, deposit administration, financial services, or a related role.
Advanced understanding of investment products, government and regulatory requirements, as well as compliance standards within the financial services sector.
Basic knowledge of mutual fund fundamentals; previous mutual fund sales experience is not required, but is considered an asset.
Skills & Attributes

Ability to identify opportunities and recommend solutions tailored to member needs.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.
Advanced understanding of compliance, fraud prevention, privacy requirements, and operational policies.
