The Public Health Assistant role is dedicated to enhancing public health services for Nunavut Inuit. You will work under the supervision of Public Health Nurses, providing crucial clinical support and cultural interpretation. Your engagement will involve a variety of programs aimed at community health promotion, including sexual health, maternal health, and disease detection.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with tuberculosis prevention and treatment programs
• Provide clinical and technical support in health initiatives
• Interpret cultural and linguistic content for clients
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments in the health center
• Participate in delivering group health education classes
Requirements:
• High school diploma with one year related experience
• Proficient in English and Inuktitut languages
• Valid driver’s license is essential
• Experience in health records or related fields is an asset
• Satisfactory Criminal and Vulnerable Sector Checks required
