As the Weigh Scale Attendant , you will play a key role in keeping Norfolk Countys waste management facilities running smoothly by weighing vehicles, processing payments, and maintaining accurate waste stream records.

Basic Function: Provide front line customer service by performing all weighing operations, collection of money and associated documentation and duties at the waste management facilities Position Description: Open, close and be responsible for the general security of the waste management facility Weigh all vehicular traffic entering and leaving the waste management facility in accordance with provincial and County policies and procedures Monitor, enforce and process the waste stream in accordance with County waste management policies and procedure as well as provincial acts and regulations Provide input, direction and service to the public at the Countys waste management facilities Collect cash and credit receipts from waste management facility customers and prepare required documentation including deposit information Collect and input waste stream data into the waste management data collection system Prepare the appropriate weigh period transaction file for modem transmission to the collection management reporting system Respond to inquiries from the public, provincial authorities, contractors, site users and staff Perform housekeeping duties inside and outside the weigh scale facilities, such as grass cutting, replacing furnace filters, and snow shovelling.

Deliver weigh scale cash receipts to Countys bank and deposit in accordance with County policy Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Knowledge and Experience: Grade 12 diploma, or equivalent Six months experience to be familiar with scope of position Skills and Abilities: Valid Ontario drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle Computer expertise in corporate standard software (Microsoft Office) and department specific software to data search and entry and to create and modify word processed documents Must be aware of safe work practices as they relate to job responsibilities and work environment, and have the basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act Perks Posting #: CUPE 69.26 Status: Permanent Part Time Number of vacancies: 1 Hours Worked per Week: up to 24 hours Employee Group: CUPE Local 4700 Wage Band: $24.27 - $30.31 per hour Reports To: Supervisor, Waste Management Location: Simcoe and South Walsingham Note: Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays and be available for callins when required.

Requirement to be able to work at both Simcoe and South Walsingham transfer station locations as scheduled.
