The Relationship Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and advancing strategic relationships that support procurement opportunities, joint ventures, partnerships, and new business development for Neba Hut'en Development Corporation. This role plays a key function in ensuring timely follow-up, coordination, and progression of opportunities that contribute to the Nation’s economic growth and sustainability.
The Relationship Manager acts as a connector between the Corporation, industry partners, government, and other stakeholders, ensuring opportunities are actively pursued and aligned with the Corporation’s strategic priorities and values.
Key Responsibilities 1. Relationship Development & Management Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, contractors, government agencies, and Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses.
Act as a primary point of contact for external partners and stakeholders.
Maintain a database of key contacts, opportunities, and partnership activities.
Represent the Corporation at meetings, events, and networking opportunities.
2. Procurement Chance Coordination Identify and track procurement opportunities relevant to the Corporation’s business lines.
Ensure timely follow-up on Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and other procurement processes.
Coordinate internally to gather required information and submissions.
Support the preparation and submission of proposals in collaboration with internal teams.
3. Joint Ventures & Partnerships Identify, evaluate, and support the development of joint venture and partnership opportunities.
Facilitate initial discussions, meetings, and relationship-building activities.
Assist in coordinating due diligence, negotiations, and agreement development.
Monitor active partnerships to ensure alignment and performance expectations are met.
4. Business Development Support Identify and track new business opportunities aligned with the Corporation’s strategic priorities.
Conduct preliminary research and analysis on potential opportunities and partners.
Support the development of business cases and opportunity assessments.
Ensure consistent follow-up and advancement of leads.

Communication & Reporting Provide regular updates and reports to leadership on the status of relationships, procurement opportunities, and partnerships.
Maintain accurate records of engagements, opportunities, and outcomes.
Prepare briefing notes and summaries for leadership meetings.
6. Collaboration & Internal Coordination Work closely with the Director of Business, CFO, and operational teams to align opportunities with capacity and priorities.
Support cross-departmental coordination to ensure timely and effective responses to opportunities.
Contribute to strategic planning and economic development discussions.
Qualifications & Experience Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Economic Development, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3–7 years of experience in business development, relationship management, procurement, or a related role.
Experience working with First Nations, Indigenous organizations, or development corporations is highly preferred.
Familiarity with procurement processes, partnership development, and contract management.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation abilities.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Proactive, self-motivated, and results oriented.
Cultural awareness and respect for First Nations values and governance
Demonstrated respect for Stellat’en First Nation culture, traditions, and governance
Willingness to learn and support Dakelh language and cultural initiatives
Commitment to working in a way that uplifts community voices, Elders, and Knowledge Holders




Understanding of the importance of culturally safe and trauma informed communication practices.
Working Conditions May require travel to meetings, partner sites, and events.
Occasional evening or weekend work for events or deadlines.
Additional Considerations Knowledge of regional industries (e.g., natural resources, construction, services) is an asset.
Understanding of Indigenous procurement strategies and partnership models is an asset.

The Corporation may also consider opportunities for training, mentorship, professional development, and succession planning where a Member candidate demonstrates the potential to successfully develop into the role.
Employment preference will be applied fairly and consistently and in accordance with applicable legislation and the Corporation’s employment policies.
Compensation Salary will range from $110,000 – $120,000 / year.
