**Job Title: Millwright**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of industrial production, fabrication, and facility equipment in a heavy metal manufacturing environment.

You will work hands-on with CNC machinery, welding equipment, conveyor systems, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure high levels of safety, reliability, and production uptime.
**Responsibilities**
Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on production and fabrication equipment to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.

Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair CNC machinery to ensure accurate and reliable performance.

Service and maintain welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welders, to support fabrication activities.

Repair and maintain grinders, presses, forming equipment, and plastic cutting machinery used in metal processing and fabrication.

Support fabrication and metal processing equipment throughout the facility by diagnosing mechanical issues and implementing effective solutions.

Maintain and troubleshoot chain-driven conveyor systems to ensure smooth and efficient material handling.

Repair sprockets, chains, and conveyor assemblies and ensure proper alignment and function of conveyor components.

Service gearboxes, drive systems, motors, bearings, shafts, and couplings, focusing on power transmission reliability.

Assist with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and related systems to optimize motor control and performance.

Maintain hydraulic presses and hydraulic systems, including identifying and resolving leaks, pressure issues, and component failures.

Troubleshoot pneumatic cylinders, actuators, and controls to maintain consistent operation of pneumatic systems.

Support compressed air systems and related equipment to ensure adequate and reliable air supply for production processes.

Perform light forklift maintenance and repairs to keep material handling equipment in safe working condition.

Assist with general building and facility maintenance, including mechanical issues involving plant infrastructure and support equipment.

Use standard millwright hand tools and appropriate personal protective equipment while performing all maintenance activities.

Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner and work closely with the maintenance and production teams to restore equipment to service.

Follow established safety procedures and maintenance processes, documenting work performed and contributing to organized maintenance records.
**Essential Skills**
Journeyman Millwright Certification preferred.

Minimum of 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing, heavy industrial, or metal fabrication environment.

Proven experience maintaining and repairing CNC machinery.

Hands-on experience servicing and maintaining welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welders.

Experience working with chain-driven conveyor systems, including repair and maintenance of sprockets, chains, and conveyor assemblies.

Solid experience in maintaining and repairing gearboxes, motors, bearings, shafts, couplings, and other power transmission equipment.

Demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in an industrial setting.

Ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting on industrial equipment.

Experience working with pneumatic systems, including cylinders, actuators,



and controls.

Experience working with hydraulic presses and hydraulic systems.

Ownership and proficient use of standard millwright hand tools.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Experience with chain-driven manufacturing systems and conveyor-based production environments.

Welding knowledge and experience maintaining welding equipment used in fabrication operations.

Experience in fabrication, metal processing, or industrial manufacturing environments.

Familiarity with maintenance management practices and organized maintenance processes.

Comfort working in a fast-paced, heavy industrial environment with a strong focus on safety and quality.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented maintenance and production environment.

**Work Environment**
This position is based in a heavy industrial metal manufacturing facility with exposure to loud machinery, grease, dirt, dust, and production-related odors.

You work primarily on a full-time day shift, Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

The environment combines preventative maintenance with rapid breakdown response, and most repairs are completed in-house by a hands-on maintenance team.

The facility operates at a fast pace with a solid focus on quality, safety, and production uptime, supported by established safety procedures and clear expectations.

Team members collaborate closely, communicate effectively, and contribute to a safety-first, team-oriented culture.

Appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection, is required while working in the plant.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Surrey, BC.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Surrey,BC.
