**Job Title: Shipper and Receiver / Material Handler**
**Job Description**
This role is a hands-on material handler position within the warehouse operations, responsible for safely handling, moving, and storing heavy parts and materials, supporting shipping and receiving activities, and maintaining accurate inventory in a rapid-paced manufacturing environment.
**Responsibilities**
Pick and move heavy parts weighing up to 50 lbs using reach trucks with fully extended forks and counterbalance forklifts.
Bend, lift, and handle units safely and efficiently throughout the shift.
Convert skids onto the rack system, ensuring materials are stored in an organized and accessible manner.
Pick material from shelves, place items on skids, and move skids onto racks according to warehouse procedures.
Load, unload, move, and store a variety of incoming materials from trucks and internal transfers.
Receive and deliver product in a timely manner to designated areas and work centers within the facility.
Work closely with Planners, Buyers, and other office personnel to maintain inventory levels and process shipments accurately.
Operate forklift trucks to move materials, stack loaded pallets, and load outgoing trucks using hand trucks, lift trucks, or overhead cranes where required.
Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering materials on a timely basis to support production schedules.
Assist in troubleshooting transactional and procedural issues related to inventory accuracy with Planners, Buyers, and other stakeholders.
Perform inventory and shipping transactions efficiently and accurately using the current business system and RF scanners.
Count, weigh, or measure incoming and outgoing orders and compare results against bills of lading and invoices to verify accuracy.
Provide backup support to shipping and receiving functions as required to meet operational demands.
Pack, seal, and label materials for shipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Adhere to all shipping and receiving policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance guidelines.
Use pallet jacks and other material handling equipment to safely move and stage loads.
Support dock loading activities and help ensure trucks are loaded safely and correctly when needed.
**Essential Skills**
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Material Handler in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
At least 1.5 years of experience operating reach trucks (full extended fork).
At least 1.5 years of experience operating counterbalance forklifts.
Demonstrated ability to consistently lift and handle loads of 50 lbs or more in a physically demanding role.
Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including loading and unloading trucks.
Hands-on material handling experience, including picking, moving, and storing inventory.
Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with production and warehouse teams.
Ability to use RF scanners and business systems to perform inventory and shipping transactions accurately.
Strong attention to detail when counting, weighing, or measuring orders and comparing them to documentation.
Ability to follow established warehouse, shipping, and receiving procedures and compliance guidelines.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with Planners, Buyers, and other internal personnel.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
1 year of Dock Stocker experience is an asset, particularly for loading and unloading trailers.
Experience operating pallet jacks and other warehouse material handling equipment.
Ability to troubleshoot basic inventory discrepancies and transactional issues.
Willingness to provide backup support across shipping, receiving, and general warehouse functions.
No formal educational qualifications specified; relevant experience is highly valued.

**Work Environment**
The role is based in a manufacturing facility with a team of roughly 300 people, including office staff, assemblers, testers, warehouse personnel, and engineers.
You will work primarily in the warehouse and shipping/receiving areas, surrounded by production operations and material handling activities.
The environment involves regular use of reach trucks, counterbalance forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and the current business system for inventory and shipping tasks.
The position follows a day shift schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
The work is physically demanding, with frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs, bending, and moving heavy units, and requires adherence to safety procedures appropriate for a busy manufacturing and warehouse setting.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brampton, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
