TRS is seeking a
**JUNIOR RISK SPECIALIST**
to support risk management activities across a major industrial project environment.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a
**Mechanical Engineering background**
who are interested in expanding their experience beyond traditional engineering roles and developing expertise in project risk management, project execution, and operational decision-making.

Working closely with HSE, engineering, construction, planning, project controls, and contractor teams, the successful candidate will help identify, assess, track, and mitigate risks before they impact safety, schedule, cost, or project performance.
**Work Arrangement & Term**
Work Location: Remote BC mining site
Work Assignment: Cross-Shift
Rotation Schedule: 2/2 (camp site assignment with chartered flights available, travel allowance, food and accommodation provided)
Employment Status: Temporary Employee
Contract Duration: 1 year with possible extension
**Key Responsibilities**
Support the development and maintenance of project risk registers.

Assist with identifying, assessing, and prioritizing project and operational risks.

Participate in risk workshops, planning sessions, and stakeholder meetings.

Monitor risk mitigation actions and track progress against key risk items.

Support risk reporting, dashboards, presentations, and leadership updates.

Collaborate with engineering, planning, construction, and project teams to identify emerging risks and opportunities.





Participate in field engagement activities and risk assessments.

Assist with lessons learned reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

Support the integration of risk management into project planning and execution activities.

Contribute to proactive risk identification across multiple project work fronts.
**Qualifications**
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Other technical or engineering disciplines may also be considered.

Approximately 2-5 years of relevant experience within industrial, construction, energy, mining, infrastructure, or capital project environments.

Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
EIT designation is an asset but not required.
**Preferred Experience**
Experience or exposure in one or more of the following areas: Engineering project execution
Construction projects
Project planning and scheduling
Project controls
Industrial operations
Risk management processes
Contractor management
Site-based project support
**Technical Skills**
Understanding of risk management principles and methodologies.

Ability to identify and evaluate technical, operational, and project execution risks.

Experience working with risk registers, databases,



or tracking tools is an asset.

Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.

Ability to interpret project schedules, plans, and engineering information.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
